This is a list of useful suppliers which TAFF members have used in the past, from whom most equipment and materials one would normally need to put on a show in Oxford can be found. However, if your request is unusual, or you are not sure which company to contact then do e-mail the mailling list, and somebody somewhere will have an idea. Cargo nets, 12′ tall crucifixes and 8′ x 12′ blue flats, someone will know a person who has one in their garage…
Local Suppliers
These are several of the more useful local suppliers. The companies listed are those which have experience dealing with theatre, there are many other shops in Oxford, such as the big DIY shops down the Botley Road or Robert Dyas which are just as useful.
* Henley Theatre Services (HTS) Based near Henley Upon Thames, HTS is a good and very helpful company, and experienced in dealing with the student market. Their stock is mainly lighting equipment, but they will also rehire from other companies. Online catalogue.

* National Theatre Wide ranging props and furniture store, mainly from previous productions by the National. A touch wary of Oxford students after a TAFF member reversed a van into their door and broke it! Based in South London.

* Bapty Limited Theatrical and TV armoury. Very reputable for hiring legitimate firearms (mostly deactivated) and weapons for use on stage, with an extensive stock. Make sure you consult the venue you will be working in before approaching Bapty’s, as you will need a request from the venue management for hiring any weapons.
