Studying Technical Drama at Postgraduate Level

If you decide to study technical drama post-Oxford, then hopefully this quick directory of options will help you to research possibilities. It is not exhaustive but it should give you a starting point. NB There are also lots of undergraduate (3 year) courses in technical theatre, which have not been included in this list; they are usually quite general in scope, or focused on stage management.

RADA: Graduate Diploma in Theatre Technical Arts; 2 years
Rose Bruford: Theatre Practices MA; July - August
Central: MA in Advanced Theatre Practice (Production strand); 1 year

Stage Management

Welsh College of Music and Drama: PGDip, Stage Management; 9 months to 1 year, starting in February
Mountview: PGDip Technical Theatre - Stage Management; January - October
Bristol Old Vic: Diploma in Professional Stage Management, 2 years
ALRA: Diploma in Stage Management; 1 year
Guildford School of Acting: Diploma in Stage Management; 1 year

Lighting Design

Mountview: PGDip Technical Theatre - Lighting Design; January - October

Sound Design
